Configuring Latex for accented characters

In Mac the best alternative is to update Tex Live Utility. To do that, you should download the latest version of MacTex

http://www.tug.org/mactex/index.html

which will also include the latest version of Tex Live Utility.

Here there is an example about how to use the package tipa

<code>
\documentclass[10pt,a4paper]{article}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\usepackage{amsfonts}
\usepackage{amssymb}
\usepackage{graphicx}
\usepackage[OT1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{tipa}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
%\usepackage[russian,english]{babel}
\usepackage[left=2cm,right=2cm,top=2cm,bottom=2cm]{geometry}
\author{Adam Sanchez}
\begin{document}

\textdotbreve{A}\textdotbreve{a}

\end{document}
</code>

The full table of latex symbols is attached.
